Description

1,000 Pieces - Memories Don’t just live in the past....

A Yorkville University arts grad project by, Krystle Moilliet

1,000 Pieces is a live performance art piece based on personal memory, which, through form and content, will examine the changing nature of remembered experience as shaped by the audience.

Approximately 50-70 minutes.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Created organically, 1,000 Pieces is built around the themes of personal stories, the role of witnessing and reliving rather than simply remembering... Practicing acceptance of the complexities of her life as a biracial woman who was often perceived as being “too much, ” or “too strong-willed, ” among other things. ...explore how she can reclaim herself through these memories... ...will be reliving the memories, together with the audience... ...1,000 Pieces isn’t simply a theatrical work but a performance art, as the medium is her physical body.
