About Kristin:

Kristin’s quilting journey began in 1999 when she stitched her first baby quilt for her best friend, using fabric from the bridesmaid’s dress she wore in the wedding. Though acetate wasn’t the ideal material for a baby quilt, it sparked a lasting passion for quilting. She soon immersed herself in classes, invested in a Janome, connected with her local quilt community, and found quilting to be the perfect creative balance to her career as a computer engineer.

Her fascination with Seminole patchwork began after seeing the technique on Simply Quilts. Captivated, Kristin dove into research, collecting every book she could find and experimenting with Seminole strip piecing in her projects. For over 15 years, she’s shared her expertise through workshops and her signature 12-week Seminole Sampler class, where students learn to make ten distinctive Seminole bands and assemble them into a one-of-a-kind quilt using quilt-as-you-go methods.

Now retired after 25 years in the technology field, Kristin enjoys a full creative life in Worley, Idaho, with her husband Shawn. Together, they enjoy time with their three grown children, two grandkids, and the vibrant life they’ve built on their 18-acre property filled with pigs, chickens, and way too much fabric.
