Description

The Brigade of the American Revolution is pleased to announce a two-day Gown Workshop with acclaimed mantua-maker Emily Stringham. Known for her award-winning work and her recognition with the Sign at the Golden Scissors, Emily brings years of experience in historical gown construction and interpretation. This workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to work under her expert guidance while surrounded by an atmospheric 18th-century space.

Over the course of two days, attendees will learn gown-cutting and construction techniques rooted in period practice. Emily will lead participants through fabric preparation, fitting considerations, and the essential hand-sewing and shaping methods that define well-made 18th-century gowns. The workshop cost is $295, which includes instruction and detailed workshop materials (Participants are responsible for bringing their own fabric and materials A list will be provided). Space is limited to ensure individualized attention.
