Description

American Legion Jersey Boys State Family Day gives parents, family, and friends the opportunity to have some fun in the sun while meeting their son’s counselors and fellow statesmen. Come learn what your son has been up to at the American Legion Jersey Boys State program and find out why we call it “A Week That Shapes the Future.”

Family Day includes-

  • Cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta, salad, and dessert
  • Entertainment including selections from the Jersey Boys State Band
  • Jersey Boys State Championship Race (final Sports event of the week)
  • Demonstrations by the NJ State Police, US Marine Corps, US Army
  • Best City and Best County awards presentation announcement
  • Final Retreat Ceremony on Daly Sports Field
  • The ALJBS Graduation Ceremony

The fun of Family Day begins at 11:00am on the Rider University Campus Mall. Each American Legion Jersey Boys State “city” will have a designated “home base” around the mall where parents can meet their sons and their friends and counselors. Please plan to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs if you wish to sit outdoors with your son and his city. Limited indoor seating will be available during the picnic.
