Tailor Competition Overview
When - July 1st – October 31st, 2022.
Where – All open beaches between Point Cartwright & the Great Sandy Cape on Fraser Island
Target Species – Tailor (Pomatomus saltatrix)
How - Surf Beach based fishing. Weight based competition with all fish presented for weigh-in, gilled and gutted. 1 Fish only per entrant per day. All fish must be presented for weigh-in at Gardiner Fisheries during regular business hours.

Whiting Competition Overview
When - August 1st – November 26th, 2022.
Where – All tidal waters between Point Cartwright & the Great Sandy Cape on Fraser Island
Target Species – Sand Whiting (Sillago ciliata)
How - Boat, Surf, Beach and Estuary. Weight based competition with all fish presented for weigh-in, gilled and gutted. 1 Fish only per entrant per day. All fish must be presented for weigh-in at Gardiner Fisheries during regular business hours.
