Announcing the 2022 Storm Shelter Conference, presented by the National Storm Shelter Association!
This event will be in-person only, without any online options, and it will feature:
• NSSA Accredited Professional (AP) exams
• NSSA Certified Inspector (CI) training and exams
• NSSA Annual Meeting
• NSSA Committee meetings
• Kiesling Award Luncheon
• An evening Social Reception
• Tours of a local Elementary School Tornado Shelter
The 2021 IBC & IRC reference the new standard ICC 500-2020 “ICC/NSSA Standard for the Design and Construction
of Storm Shelters”. The standard includes many changes proposed by NSSA to provide better clarity and consistency
in the industry. At the conference this year, NSSA has several programs that are based on this new standard.
Building Officials, Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Manufacturers and Academia should all find value in
these events. NSSA is an AIA Continuing Education Provider.
EVENT LOCATIONS
Most events will be held at The Westin St. Louis hotel, located at 811 Spruce Street in St. Louis, MO. The shelter tour
will be held at Hancock Place Elementary School at 9101 South Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63125
