Caribbean Happiness Conference (CHC) continues in 2023 to work on its objective of creating awareness and shifting minds in our Caribbean communities in general and on Curaçao in particular, about living a happy life.
On Curaçao and other Caribbean islands, the Service Economy makes up the largest portion of the overall economy. As customer expectations continue to rise, we must meet our customers also in times of duress. The CX Trends research found that more than 60% of customers say they now have higher customer service standards, and that customer engagement was up 14 percent compared to 2021. That translates to higher volume- but also more opportunities to connect and build relationships with customers.
How are we in the Caribbean and on Curaçao amongst others, getting the most out of these opportunities that the new customer expectations are bringing to us?
Hence, our topic for this year, our 2nd edition of the CHC is Service; the value and impact of service on our communities and economies. Our theme is ‘HAPPY TO SERVE YOU!’.
We start our ‘HAPPY TO SERVE YOU’ year with this Pre-conference Seminar on March 30, 2023, to give more insight into the present situation on our islands about service.

As a tourism marketing and management professional, Dyane Vis-Escalona acquired extensive experience in top travel and tourism organizations. At the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.), Dyane supports the CEO in strategic assignments, leads the development of the A.T.A.’s Annual Report and Corporate Planning, and is responsible for the development of the organization’s Multi-Annual Corporate Strategy.
Ghatim Kabbara is a seasoned business consultant and entrepreneur highly-skilled in branding, marketing, business development and sales strategies. He is also an accomplished international speaker who inspires audiences with fresh business insights that blend his unique perspective on life with over 25 years of experience in international business, branding and entrepreneurship. He is best known on Curacao for his accomplishments as the CEO of the Curacao Tourism Board, the Hotel Developer of ACOYA Resort and Director of UTS Business, as well as being the founder and owner of TicketsCaribbean.com. His most recent accomplishment is the creation and launch of The Freedom Hotel in Otrobanda.
Experienced leader with an extensive history of working in the investment, hospitality and tourism sector. Strong business development professional skilled in Investment Management, Asset Management, Marketing and Sales Management, Hotel Management, Airlift, Human Resources, and Product Development. Jeanette participates actively on the boards of Chamber of Commerce (KvK), Downtown Management Organization (DMO), Stichting Ontwikkeling Projecten Logistieke Sector (SLS), and Curaçao International Financial Center (CIFC).
Nicole Maduro is a seasoned international journalist and communication specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the print and broadcast mediums & communication field. She is a lecturer in Journalism Studies at the University of the Dutch Caribbean and an instructor in Public Speaking, Press Communication & Media Skills. She is also an experienced moderator & master of ceremonies for local and international events.
Fundashon pa Konsumidó aims to protect consumers and also to empower them to stand up for their rights. As the Communication & Projects Manager of Fundashon pa Konsumidó, Melissa creates projects to inform and educate consumers to make better decisions when purchasing products and services. During this mini-conference she will share important aspects of customer service that are directly linked to the rights of the customer.
Maivé Constancia-Alberto is an experienced IT professional. Driven by acting with integrity, respect, trust and loyalty for all she takes pride in providing the best service satisfaction possible. As an IT professional her goals are to take charge, act and do things the best way that brings happiness to the end user.
