2023 Concordia Summer Instrumental Solo Artist Festival

Violin and Cello 

Concordia University Irvine is pleased to launch the first Summer Instrumental Solo Artist Festival at the Borland-Manske Center. Talented young violinists and cellists are invited to participate in intensive violin and cello programs led by distinguished faculty and guest artists. Participants will enhance their knowledge and musical skills while sharing the experience with peers and professional musicians.

 

Festival Dates:  Tuesday June 13,  - Friday June 16,  2023 

Ages: 5rd grade and older

Application Deadline

    Early Application 

  • Application fee : $30
  • Due date: April 1st, 2023 
  • Acceptance will be announced by April 5, 2023. Tuition must be paid by April 10, 2023

   Regular Application

  • Application fee : $60
  • Due date: April 30th, 2023 
  • Acceptance will be announced by May 3rd, 2023. Tuition must be paid by May 7, 2023

Tuition: $800

  • Parents, if your child is under age 13, you might be eligible to apply for Dependent Care FSA to reimburse the tuition for the camp. https://www.fsafeds.com/explore/dcfsa
  • Non-paid Internships available for high school students

Lunch Package (optional) : $50 
Room and Board*: for students out of state and county :  $350.00
*Students under 18 years old who need room and board, must be accompanied by a guardian or chaperon.

Registration and Audition

Video recording of one or two pieces that demonstrate your highest level of musical achievement, uploaded to YouTube (unlisted) or other similar easily accessible video sharing website

Concerto Competition

Competition Date: Monday June 12, 2023

Concerto Competition Application Fee : $60
The top 6 contestants will have the opportunity to perform their piece with a chamber orchestra led by Dennis Kim, the concertmaster of Pacific Symphony.
Performance Fee (for the selected performers): $500
