Description

Thank you for your interest in applying  our De Pere/Oneida Service Area Girl Scout Day Camp! The Day Camp is open to registered scouts in the De Pere/Oneida Service Area that will have completed 4K through 12th grade and is operated by volunteers from the De Pere/Oneida Service Area of the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Girl Scout Council.  The program offers girls the chance to participate in traditional and non-traditional outdoor activities while helping them build their courage, confidence and character and have a lot of fun along the way!

The camp is a week-long day camp where girls will learn to fish, go hiking, try their hand at archery, outdoor flag ceremonies, knots, arts & crafts, games and the list goes on!  The only requirement (besides being a registered Girl Scout) is that your Scout is willing to try new things-we can’t learn until we try!  Our camp continues to utilize the concept of progressive outdoor skills:  acquiring the skills needed to progress to more difficult or highly skilled activities. As girls build their confidence, progressive outdoor experiences can be planned farther and farther away from home or using more complex skills.

As a Program Aide, you are in a position to offer so much to both scouts and the Unit Leaders.  You will be given a chance to step up to the plate and show everyone what you can do. Plus, once you are headed to the High School level, are are eligible to use these hours towards your volunteer/community service hours.  While we prefer to have a P.A. for the whole week, it is not necessary.

Program Aides help our Unit Leaders with programming, leading activities and getting your feet wet with some administrative duties as well.  Each P.A. will be paired with a Unit Leader and depending on scheduling, may alternate between several Unit Leaders.  Our P.A.’s should be able to work with younger Scouts, adults and their peers.  P.A.’s also have the option to sleep over with us on Thursday night.  Deadline to apply is May 6, 2024.

Upon receipt of registration, you will be sent:
