Share We are a non-profit organization that represents and supports music education throughout Erie County and Western New York. ECMEA’s purpose since its inception in 1949 has been to advance and strengthen the cause of music education in Erie County. We provide leadership in the professional growth of teachers, while offering special musical opportunities to pupils via music festivals throughout the school year.
Description
This festival highlights talented 4th, 5th and 6th graders from schools throughout Western New York. Students perform an audition in January and are selected based on their performance. This festival is one of f our that take place during the month of March.
There are TWO separate concerts:
String Orchestra and 12:30 Red Chorus- 12:30 p.m.
Band and 3:00 Blue Chorus- 3:00 p.m.
ECMEA selects conductors with the primary goal of enriching each student’s artistic development. Conductors are chosen from highly respected local programs, nationally recognized collegiate programs, and the ranks of professional conductors.
PLEASE NOTE: There is NO elevator access to the balcony level.
