Welcome to the new beginnings of Spring at the Affordable Housing Conference & Strategy Meetings for Indigenous Peoples & Indigenous Communities of Gathering Tribes and Nations (AHCIC)

Join us during National Indigenous Languages Day as we celebrate through recognition of coming together and to commemorate with opening ceremonies acknowledging the identity & strength of Indigenous Languages worldwide.
The 4-day Conference promises an exhilarating gathering of local and international attendees, Dignitaries, Chiefs, industry professional and community leaders working to strengthen the foundation and improve the sustainability of interconnected borderless communities. Addressing affordable housing for Indigenous Peoples, Native American, American Indian, Native Hawaiians or Kānaka Maoli, Indígena, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Māori, Métis, First Nations and Inuit but not limited to the specific Tribal name, Nations, Reserves and individual preferences which will be honoured in-person of those in attendance at the Conference.
We are excited to host the Affordable Housing for Indigenous Communities in Banff, Alberta. Located “within the present-day territories of the Treaty 6, 7, and 8, First Nations as well as the Métis Homeland” the agenda is culturally enriched and pays tribute to rich Indigenous Heritage within its territories.
Banff National Park is located 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Calgary, Alberta on one of Canada's major highways. Attendees will be refreshed by the beautiful landscape of an iconic Canadian Winter and spin off of the bustling energy sector hub of one of Alberta largest cities.
International & National participants will engage with a diverse, multi-sector group of industry leaders and peers through roundtables, research findings, forums, convenings and outdoor excursions in Banff National Park.
Who Can Attend?
Attendance at this conference is a combined alliance reserved for industry professionals, Officials, Dignitaries, private and nonprofit affordable housing developers, owners, planners, housing advocates, Indigenous Community leaders, Elders, Chiefs, architects, construction, engineers, community service providers, community groups, idea supporters, lenders, grant programs, financial developers and/or economic development officials; affiliate's in the industry that have close alignment in urban, rural or city centers.

2025 Travel & Conference Grants USE IT OR LOSE IT – AHC accepts travel grants
As an organization supporting Indigenous & Black Communities, we accept all professional development, conference and travel grant funding programs provided that payment is made prior to the start of the event. To request an invoice, purchase order, group rate or a conditional acceptance letter, please contact us directly.
All registered attendance will be provided with a receipt, travel letter confirmation and additional details on the conference upon receipt of payment. Itineraries, agenda and schedules will be provided only to paid attendees during and post-events to support applicable grant requirements.

Family Work Related Trip Options:
We realize that some participants may be traveling with family members and are pleased to provide onsite childminding and activities during the work-related trip. We have a maximum of 20 childminding spots. Additional paperwork and/or fees may be required for those wishing to bring their family members and/or accompanied guests (non-conference participants).
Refunds
We strongly encourage all registered attendees to check with the travel documentation requirements for those travelling internationally. As a Canadian owned company, impacted by the Canada Post Strike and have modified our communication and are not sending any mail or courier at this time, given the delays and uncertainty. Mail can be requested case by case but we are not guaranteeing delivery dates. All conference materials will be picked up in-person at the event or sent after the end of the event, we appreciate your understanding and willingness to answer the optional questions to expedite the process.
If you have paid registration fees for a conference and cannot attend, IDEAS HC will refund your registration fee minus a non-refundable $250 processing fee for any tickets per $2000 increments value of the ticket if you cancel your registration 30 days or more before the conference. If you wish to cancel/modify from 29–8 days before the event you may request a credit for the value of the registration. (The credit will be valid for any of our conferences held within one year from the date of the conference you originally registered for.) No refunds will be issued if you cancel less than 7 days prior to the start of the event. There are no refunds or credits issued for unused conference attendee registrations that are included in a sponsorship or exhibit package. We reserve the right to refuse any attendee that does not seem fit with the agenda/conference purpose.
No-Shows
We strongly encourage all registered attendees to check with the travel documentation requirements for those travelling internationally. There are no refunds or credits for paid attendees who do not attend the affordable housing conference they were registered for or who do not cancel 72 hours or more before the beginning of the event. There are no refunds or credits issued for unused registrations or no-show attendees that are included in a sponsorship or exhibit package. There are no refunds or credits for paid attendees who do not attend the affordable housing conference due to foreseen travel documents without 3 business days' notice
