2026 Bose Baroque Orchestra Summer Music Festival - A Musical Passport

We are delighted to invite you on an extraordinary journey.

 his summer, the Boise Baroque Orchestra presents A Musical Passport,  three concerts that cross centuries and continents, bringing the color, drama, and beauty of the Baroque era to life in two beautiful Treasure Valley venues.

The Baroque Institute offers high school musicians an immersive, hands-on introduction to historical performance practice through rehearsal and performance of Baroque masterworks. Students will study and perform music by Henry Purcell, Georg Philipp Telemann, and Arcangelo Corelli, using Baroque bows and stylistic techniques alongside principal string players of the Boise Baroque Orchestra. The program emphasizes period style, ensemble leadership, and historically informed musicianship.

This special performance will be held indoors at Cathedral of the Rockies Boise, 717 N 11th St #4, Boise, ID 83702..

Boise Baroque Orchestra is one of Idaho’s premier classical music ensembles, dedicated to bringing the timeless beauty of 17th and 18th-century music to life. Founded in 2003, Boise Baroque is made up of some of the region’s finest professional musicians who share a passion for historically inspired performances that feel vibrant, fresh, and full of heart.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Franz, the orchestra offers a rich and intimate concert experience, whether indoors at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Boise or under the stars at the breathtaking Château des Fleurs in Eagle. Each season features masterworks from the Baroque and Classical eras, paired with modern touches that welcome new and seasoned listeners alike.

Beyond the stage, Boise Baroque Orchestra nurtures the next generation of musicians through educational programs like the Conductor Workshop and the Summer Baroque Institute.
