2026 Concordia Summer Chamber Music Festival 

June 15-June 25 , 2026

Concordia University Irvine is pleased to launch the third Summer Chamber Music Festival in the Borland-Manske Center. Talented young musicians are invited to take part in intensive chamber programs led by distinguished faculty and guest artists. Participants will enhance their knowledge and musical skills while sharing the experience with peers and professional musicians.

 

Instruments

  • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
  • Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone
  • Brass: Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba
  • Piano
  • Harp

Ages

  • Entering 4rd grade and older
  • Open to individuals or pre-formed groups (duets, trios, quartets, etc.)

Application Deadline

Acceptance will be announced by April 1, 2026
Tuition must be paid by April 5th , 2026

   Early Application 

  • Application Fee: $30
  • Due date: March 10, 2026

   Regular Application 

  • Application Fee: $60
  • Due date: March 22, 2026

    Late Application 

  • Application Fee: $80
  • Due date: March 28, 2026

Tuition: $1,780.00

Awards from the Concordia Music Competition 
First prize :  $200 scholarship 

 * For chamber ensembles, each member will receive a $200 scholarship  (only for instrumentalists )

Second prize :  $100 scholarship 

* For chamber ensembles, each member will receive a $100 scholarship 


Lunch Package (optional) :  $180.00 (10 meals)


Audition

Video recording of one or two pieces that demonstrate your highest level of musical achievement, uploaded to YouTube (unlisted) or other similar easily accessible video sharing website


About the Program

Participants will be assigned to groups and repertoire based on their levels. Certificates of completion will be issued to all participants.

Concerto competition

  • Competition Date: Monday, June 15, 2026
  • Performance Date: Saturday, June 20 , 2026
  • Concerto Competition Application Fee : $60
  • Selected contestants will have the opportunity to perform their piece with a professional chamber orchestra  (Rehearsal on June 17th after 4:30)
  • Performance Fee (for the selected performers): $600
  • Repertoire: Any single movement from the following list of concerti

  • Thursday June 25 12:30PM - 9:30PM (Final Concert)

 

Final Concert

All groups are featured in the final concert on the last day of the festival .

Final Ceremony :  Wednedsay June 24, 2026 at 6 PM (Orchestra and Piano Ensemble Performance)
