THE THREE RIVERS MAHJONG 2026 FALL LEAGUE IS HERE
Six weeks. Real competition. A whole lot of fun.
Are you in?
League Play is your chance to sharpen your game, meet your people, and get real table time playing American Mahjong competitively, alongside a community that's got your back. This is hands-on, confidence-building play designed for newer players who are ready to test their skills. That being said, we are playing competitively for points and prizes, so the NMJL rules will stand. An organizer will be on hand to help clarify rules and settle card questions (this is not an instructional class). Bring your basic knowledge and let's play!
At TRM, our community is built on newer players building community while supporting each other. We expect cordiality at the table, kindness in gameplay, and genuine encouragement as everyone grows their skills together. Whether you've been playing for three months or three years, if you're part of the TRM community, you belong at this table.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Six Weeks of Weekly Play - Your registration covers six weeks of play, with full score tracking and a really cool swag bag.
Prizes Every Week - Top score each week wins a prize. Raffle tickets for attendance plus extra tickets for every additional mahjong you score for more prizes. Fun surprises baked into every session. And the overall league winner walks away with a beautiful tile set.
Play on the Good Stuff - Luxe tiles, premium mats - this is your chance to play on some of the most gorgeous products around.
Serious Fun, Serious Play - Beginner-friendly doesn't mean low-stakes. We play by NMJL rules throughout (no strategy coaching) – fun, competitive play in a supportive room.
Keep Your Best Games - Weeks 1–3: three complete games per session. Weeks 4–6: four games per session. Your scores build a running leaderboard, and if you get additional games in per night, your lowest score drops. You'll get faster and sharper as the weeks go on - that's the whole point!
IS THIS LEAGUE FOR YOU? You're a great fit if you can:
Play a hand of mahjong unassisted (turn order, basic gameplay - you've got this part down and you have plenty of time to practice - I Love Mahj is perfect for this!)
Roll with different paces at the table, everyone's on their own journey
Show up ready for friendly competition with FUN built in
Take pacing reminders in stride, since we're moving through games each night
THE FINE PRINT (important stuff)
Scoring details will go out before league start. We will follow NMJL rules with a few beginner-friendly tweaks.
All registrations are final. Can't make a week? You may sub in a player but there's no flex scheduling for this league. If seats remain after registration closes, drop-in spots may open up.
In the unlikely event Coughlin's has a private buyout, we may get bumped from the space. If that happens, you'll hear from me right away and we'll reschedule to an alternate location.
