Join us for the Kinder HSPVA Jazz Festival on April 17–18, a two-night celebration of outstanding student performance and world-class artistry. Each evening will feature special guest artist Andre Hayward, a distinguished HSPVA alumnus and internationally recognized trombonist. Friday night’s program will showcase the Fusion Combo, Combo 1, and Jazz Ensemble 2, while Saturday night will feature Combo 3, Combo 2, and Jazz Ensemble 1, highlighting the depth and versatility of our jazz program.
Andre Hayward is one of the most respected trombonists in jazz today, known for his rich tone, lyrical phrasing, and dynamic improvisation. A Houston native and HSPVA graduate, he has performed and recorded with jazz legends including Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, and the SF Jazz Collective. Hayward has also led his own acclaimed projects and is a dedicated educator, inspiring the next generation of musicians through his teaching and performances around the world.
