The Weatherford College Rodeo Team is excited to share the official dates for our 2nd Annual NIRA (National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association) Lone Star Region College Rodeo, hosted at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Arena in Weatherford, Texas: October 8–10, 2026. Our inaugural rodeo in 2025 was voted “Rodeo of the Year” for the NIRA Lone Star Region. Thank you for helping us make it a success!
WC proudly joins Vernon College, Ranger College, Cisco College, Tarleton State University, Angelo State University, and Sul Ross State University as part of the newly formed Lone Star Region of the NIRA. Our event will feature over 500 contestant runs, with slack scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday at 9:30 a.m., as well as two evening performances on Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. We are also thrilled to once again live stream on the Cowboy Channel+ App. Last year’s livestream was a tremendous success, offering sponsors significant exposure beyond the arena, and we look forward to building on that momentum.
Your continued sponsorship directly benefits the team for the entire 2026-2027 school year with scholarships, travel expenses, practice equipment and awards. The Weatherford College Rodeo Team is proud to be the third-largest team in the nation with 91 members for the 2025–2026 season, just behind Tarleton State University and Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Within a one-hour radius, Weatherford College, Tarleton State, Ranger College, and Cisco College collectively make up over 350 collegiate rodeo athletes—one of the largest concentrations in the nation. With Parker County known as the Cutting Horse Capital of the World, many of our student-athletes live, work, and spend locally. During the 2025-26 season, our team of 91 spent over $40,000 monthly at area feed stores and vet clinics and nearly $18,000 per month at local restaurants. With over 100 athletes expected this coming year, we project those numbers will grow even more, with a monthly economic impact nearing $50,000- supporting the very businesses that support us.

Should you wish to participate, please submit your completed form along with your business logo and/or advertising materials by August 27, 2026, and send checks to Weatherford College Rodeo so we can include your advertisement in our Media Guide/Rodeo Program.
