22 Miles for 22 Vets
5 Ws:
- Who: This event is open for all to participate.
- What: 22 Miles for 22 Vets is a charity fundraising hike. A 22-mile hike to raise awareness for veteran suicide and mental health. We will also offer distances of 10, 15, and 22 miles.
- When: November 16, 2024, 7:30 am start.
- Where: Wichita Falls, TX. Start/Finish: Thomas Fowler American Legion Post 169
- Why: Mission - Our mission is twofold. First, we strive to increase awareness about the alarming rates of veteran suicide and the mental health challenges faced by our servicemen and women after their return to civilian life. Second, we are committed to supporting organizations that work tirelessly to prevent veteran suicide and provide vital mental health resources to those in need. The event will not only raise funds but also foster a sense of camaraderie and community support among participants. We hope this event becomes one where veterans can come together, build community, and create relationships while learning about the support organizations available. All proceeds will go to Operation Heal Our Patriots (of Samaritan’s Purse) and Mighty Oaks Foundation.
- Ticket costs: $35 each / Military groups of 6 or more: $30 each. All proceeds will go to Operation Heal Our Patriots (of Samaritan’s Purse) and Mighty Oaks Foundation.
