Description

We're back! Another Monday evening to enjoy five Gotham Comedy Club comedians, an open bar all evening, and yummy hors d'oeuvres during the opening cocktail hour.

All money raised goes to fund ongoing MS research at Weill Cornell Medical College - Cornell University.  Enjoy some of the finest up-and-coming comedians and raise money to fund promising MS research.

The money donated will fill gaps in funding that are not being covered by other sources. These investigations are critical paving stones on the path that could lead to therapies for those afflicted now, a vaccine so that no one gets this again in the future, and eventually, one day, a cure.

Meet us at the Gotham Comedy Club, 208 West 23rd Street New York, New York 10011, on Monday, September 30, 2024  at 6pm. Tickets include the show, open bar all evening, and hors d’oeuvres during the initial cocktail hour. Use the link below to purchase tickets, or contact Regina Schroeder for more information at raschroeder@msstandup.org.  Or mail a check to the Mind Brain Philanthropic Foundation, c/o Ian Green, treasurer,364 W. 117th Street, 5A, NY, NY 10026.

Each year the Mind Brain Philanthropic Foundation, reviews the state of MS research and seeks to fund unmet needs using their MS Stand Up campaign to raise money through an annual comedy club benefit. This year we have focused on novel research being done at Weill Cornell with implications for early diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis.   And we've got sponsorships ideas for every donor!

MS Stand Up is a grassroots fundraising campaign powered by people living with multiple sclerosis and the people who love them. We’re a community on a mission: to keep promising, high-impact MS research alive while it’s still too new, too risky, or too unglamorous to attract institutional funding.

We’re not funding the usual suspects — we’re backing bold ideas.

Our efforts support cutting-edge investigations led by Dr. Timothy Vartanian at Weill Cornell Medicine, in collaboration with scientists at The Rockefeller University. These projects address unmet, often overlooked needs in the MS research ecosystem. They might not make headlines, but without them, the science stalls. We fund what’s essential — not what’s trendy.

Every dollar raised goes to the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University, directed toward MS research under Dr. Vartanian’s leadership. Each year, the Mind Brain Philanthropic Foundation (MBPF) — the nonprofit behind MS Stand Up — evaluates where funding is most urgently needed to keep vital research moving until larger institutions can take it the rest of the way.
