ABOUT
ThermHex Waben
ThermHex Waben was founded in 2009 and produces thermoplastic honeycomb cores as core material for lightweight sandwich panels and components. It offers high quality honeycomb cores which help to produce better and more economic lightweight sandwich panels and parts for different applications. ThermHex supports its customers to ever better meet requirements of weight reduction and a more efficient usage of natural resources. Thru weight reduction in structural parts of many products the company helps to reduce environmental impact and contributes to sustainability.
Thanks to the patented and highly efficient ThermHex process for the continuous production of honeycomb cores, sandwich elements for lightweight products can be produced particularly economically. It enables the use of honeycomb cores even in areas where they have not yet been used, mostly for cost reasons. Honeycomb cores are used wherever high-quality products with an optimum strength to weight ratio are required. Whether for the production of panels for truck boxes, for ship interior, prefabricated bathrooms or for modern swimming pools, our honeycomb cores are versatile and available in different cell diameters, strengths and densities.
Fraunhofer IMWS
The Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWS is a methodologically oriented Fraunhofer Institute in the material sciences and materials engineering disciplines. The Fraunhofer IMWS is a contact for industry and public clients for all issues concerning materials and systems – with the objective of increasing material efficiency and profitability and to use resources carefully. The work of the Fraunhofer IMWS is aimed at identifying defects and weakpoints in materials, components and systems on the micro- and nanoscale, to clarify their cause and to offer clients solutions based on the outcomes.
The institute's industrial clients come, among other things, from the microelectronics and microsystem engineering, photovoltaics, plastics engineering sectors, the chemical industry, energy engineering, automotive engineering and the aircraft industry. This work is accompanied by the further development of methods to shed light on microstructures. Together with analysis equipment manufacturers, precise-fitting equipment configurations can be developed, so that in future industrial clients can identify and avoid the source of defects themselves.
We are looking forward to welcoming you soon in Halle.
