538st:
From the sun-kissed shores of British Columbia comes a new wave of music called surf-hop, created by the energetic brothers duo Sam and Jake Cooke.Their groovy tunes are stylistically- inclusive and upbeat, melding hip-hop, nu-funk, and r&b for a refreshing swirl of vintage and modern sounds.These two are always there for a good time, aiming to put a smile on every face around (one of 538st’s main motivators). They always strive for musical growth and evolution while they stay grounded in their roots; 538st is named for their childhood home, in the town where they have a vigorous fan base of dedicated supporters. 538st is well-loved for their music and live performances due to their funky layers of artistry, relatable lyrics, and the brothers’ sunny spirits.
Black Pontiac:
A West Coast attitude, DIY work ethic, and mainstream aspirations come together in the genetic makeup of Black Pontiac. Emerging onto the Pacific NorthWest music scene with a unique brand of Arctic Monkeys inspired party rock, the unparalleled energy of their live performances quickly turned the independent Vancouver quartet into local celebrities. Tours, festival appearances, and opening slots for names such as Peach Pit, MONOWHALES, and M.A.G.S. followed along with collaborations by way of production from James Younger (Yukon Blonde), Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat) and Parker Bossley (Gay Nineties). Having survived the lows, Black Pontiac is ready for the highs and they continue to maintain independent control of their creative output and collective destiny. Black Pontiac is Matt Purkiss (vocals), Mack Riddell (Guitar), Sam Riddell (Drums) and Avery John Shoesmith (Bass).
