Description

The 6th Annual Wallace Theater Pop-Up Museum. Celebrating both the Levelland Centennial and the historic role of the Wallace Theater, this project explores life in West Texas 100 years ago through the lens of the local lived experience. For a century, the Wallace Theater has served as a cultural gathering place where national trends and events intersected with the realities of rural West Texas life. This centennial initiative uses the Pop-Up Museum as a unifying framework to connect with local artifacts, family stories, and regional traditions, emphasizing how hand-crafted objects create memories and narratives of the past for the residents of Levelland and Hockley County.

Dr. Suzanne Seriff is an award winning educator, museum curator and innovator in the academic, museum, and community arts worlds. Her interactive, community-engaged exhibitions have been recognized by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Council for Museum Anthropology, the Int. Coalition of Sites of Conscience, and the American Alliance for Museums. Nationally traveling museum exhibits include “Recycled, Re-Seen: Folk Art from the Global Scrap Heap” for the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, and “Forgotten Gateway: Coming to American Through Galveston Island,” for the Bullock Texas History Museum. From 2010-2017, Seriff served as director of the Gallery of Conscience at the Museum of International Folk Art. A Sr. Lecturer in Anthropology and faculty associate of the Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies at UT, Seriff brings her vast experience and commitment to hands-on learning, community engagement and career mentoring to design innovative undergraduate classes in anthropology, folklore, museum studies, immigration, and Jewish studies.

Built in 1928 as a state-of-the-art movie house, the Wallace Theater now serves as Levelland’s premier center for arts, culture, and education. While ongoing historic restorations continue to bring new life to this landmark, the Wallace will host concerts, films, comedy, art shows, private events, and more.

Preservation Fee
A $3.00 preservation fee is included in all non-movie ticketed service fees. This contribution directly supports the ongoing care and preservation of the historic Wallace Theater building—helping ensure that it remains a vibrant home for arts, culture, and community for the next 100 years.

A $1.00 preservation fee is included in all movie event tickets.

*Please note: all ticket service fees include both a processing fee and a preservation fee.

 

Family Seating Policy
For the comfort and safety of all guests:

  • Strollers and car seats are not permitted inside the theater.
  • Children over 1 year of age require their own ticket.
  • Children under 1 year may attend free of charge when seated on a guardian's lap.
  • If a child becomes disruptive during the performance, we reserve the right to ask parents or guardians to step out into the lobby with them until they are settled.

We’re excited to offer three season package tiers this year, giving you the chance to enjoy more shows at a discounted rate. Discounts are applied only when you create your custom package.

*Please Note: Season Packages must be purchased through the Wallace Theater Box Office in order to receive the discount.

Package Tiers

Encore: 7 or more shows = 15% discount*

Spotlight: 5–6 shows = 10% discount*

Premiere: 3–4 shows = 5% discount*

  • All tickets for your selected shows/events must be purchased at the same time to qualify for a package and receive the discount.
  • Discounts apply only to the shows you include in your package.
  • Only Wallace Theater shows are eligible for package discounts.

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
