Using its "cathedral concerts" concept of utilizing acoustic space and creative musical connections, the CWO will commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with music by Mackey, De Meij, Cage, Stamp, Copland, Stephen Foster, and John Williams. A special presentation during the concert will honor the 9/11 patriots will include bagpipes and "Taps." The concert will be in the serene evening setting of the outdoor Alumni Plaza, in front of the Borland-Manske Center.  Shuttle service is available from the main parking lot. Preceding the on-campus concert, the audience is invited to a special presentation by Jackie Charnley, a worker in the World Trade Center who experienced the 9/11 attacks firsthand. The presentation will be in Zhang Hall (inside the Borland-Manske Center, adjacent to the performance location) at 6:00 p.m.  Lecture attendees will have preferred concert seating locations reserved for them in the seating section they have purchased.


Location:  OUTDOOR CONCERT!  Alumni Plaza, outside the Borland-Manske Center.


Parking and Walking: Please park in the main lot (parking is free), then down the hill toward the CU Center.  The Alumni Plaza will be to the right of the CU Center.

Mask Policy: Our updated COVID-19 policy requires that masks be worn for all guests, visitors, students and employees regardless of vaccination status in all indoor spaces at Concordia University Irvine. Performance and event ticket holders who do not comply with these policies will not be admitted.

Student performers are not required to wear masks during performances, as all performers undergo a regular testing protocol to screen for COVID-19 infection.

This policy is in effect as of August 20, 2021 for all indoor performances and will be re-assessed on an ongoing basis.
Tickets:

     Plaza Seats:  These are in the main, circular portion of the Alumni Plaza, closest to the wind orchestra.

    Pathway Seats:  Located in the several wide pathways surround and extend out from the main plaza. 

        Your ticket will provide access to one of these seating areas.  Upon arrival, please select any available seat in your area.  Children  do not need tickets and will be admitted for free with adults who buy tickets online.
