Queen & Rook Game Cafe is starting out our Magic Events in a big way with our meet Jon Finkel and other Magic The Gathering Pro Legends Event. 

 

Jon Finkel, Chris Pikula and Lan D. Ho will play Two Headed Giant with the winners of a previously held charity auction and you can meet them and get a Shadowmage Infiltrator card signed by the MTG Hall of Famer himself. 

We also have the new Throne of Eldraine booster and bundle packs as well as Core 2020 and theme decks for sale, so pick yours up now, whether you have been into Magic from day one or are playing for the first time, this is a great opportunity to do it.  Play Magic while eating delicious food and enjoying our great alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.  We will have announcements about upcoming Magic events and lots of special retail deals.  

EVENT SCHEDULE:

From 11 am to 12:30pm we will have open Magic the Gathering Tables and sales of Throne of Eldraine, Core 2020 and War of the Spark and attendees will receive their Shadowmage Infiltrator Card.

At 12:30pm Jon and the other Pros will play Two Headed Giant with the charity auction winners

After Two Headed Giant, ticketed attendees will be able to get an autograph from the pros in attendance

 

25% of the ticket price will go to the scholarship fund at The Philadelphia School.

About the Pros:

Jon Finkel  is an American Magic: The Gathering and poker player. Finkel is one of the most decorated players in the history of professional Magic: The Gathering play and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all-time. During his career he has won three Grand Prix events and made the Top 8 of a record 16 Pro Tour events, winning three of those. In the year 2000, he became the Magic: The Gathering World Champion, as well as playing for the United States National Team, which won the team portion of the competition.


Christopher Pikula is an American Magic: The Gathering player. Pikula started playing on the Pro Tour at the very first Pro Tour in New York, 1996. He attended the other two Pro Tour events that season too, failing to attend only the World Championship. Success came at the beginning of the second season, when Pikula reached consecutive Pro Tour Top 8s. In the 1997–98 season he had another Top 8 appearance, this time at the World Championship. Afterwards he reached the Top 8s of two Grand Prix events, but gradually disappeared from the pro scene.

Pikula is best known for creating the Magic card Meddlng Mage, his reward for winning the 2000 Magic Invitational. In the 2005 season had a small comeback where he reached the Top 8 of another two Grand Prix events. Pikula also made Top 8 in 2017 at GP Orlando.


 

Lan D. Ho is an American Magic: The Gathering player who has been part of the Professional circuit for more than 20 years.  They are an MTG advocate, event organizer and documentary film maker.
