My WORSHIP

A virtual interactive workshop created for attendees to connect with spirit filled worship leaders, song writers and gospel recording artists around the world. The My WORSHIP Vol 2 "QUARANTINE WORSHIP" master class will change your life completely. This course is specifically designed to help you develop and maximize your teams musical potential in this virtual space.  You will also learn how to engage your audience while also being in this virtual space.

ALL SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAYS AND THURSDAYS USING A ZOOM LINK  (which will be sent to all participants)

starting on the 18th of October through to the 12th of November from 7:15 - 9pm.

ALL ATTENDEES SHOULD LEAVE THE MASTER CLASS WITH KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO:

  • Know the difference between praise and worship and learn how to effectively do both.
  • Design effective praise and worship sets and place songs where best suited in their service.
  • Arrange parts for praise teams based on the different texture of voices.
  • Motivate and encourage other members of the music team to strive for excellence at all times.
  • Learning how to create a virtual praise and worship set.
  • Learning how to create a virtual choir.

This master class was created to provide tangible and practical teachings on becoming a better praise and worship leader, choir director and also on how to effective engage your congregation/audience in a virtual space.  We will discuss all the areas involved in being an effective music and arts worship leader (praise and worship leader) and also assisting attendees in learning how to write and create their own music.  This master class will be 4 weeks with sessions twice a week, Sunday and Thursday evenings from 7:15pm to 9:00pm.  All of our instructors are experienced music ministers who have been masters in their craft for over 15+ years. Sefton Dale Brown, Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, was born and raised in a musical family. His parents are Sefton Brown Snr and Claudette Brown, gospel music legends from the ministry "New Creation Heritage". Sefton jnr (known to most as Dale, has been singing for over 35yrs. He has ministered all over the Caribbean serving as the choir director, praise team coordinator, music director, worship and arts director for many ministries all across North America and the caribbean. He formed a ministry called Dale Brown and Truth also known as DB&T which started in August 2009 and is currently comprised of 18 active members from across the United states and Canada. The group blends traditional and contemporary gospel music with their own musical style. They have ministered across the United States, the Caribbean and now Canada. The ministry released their first album "Tru Celebration" in December of 2013; their second album "Under Construction" in September of 2015 and in January of  2018 they released a gospel reggae fusion project. They were also nominated in 2018 for the "best contemporary gospel group award" at the Eddy awards, held in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to their  albums, the ministry has a clothing line which includes: tshirts, dresses and sweaters.

Dale has currently relocated to Toronto  Canada where he is very active in the gospel music industry. He is currently the music teacher at Crawford adventist academy, the praise and worship director for the Apple Creek church, The music consultant for the Meadowvale Church and the director of the promotion company Muzikizlife. Dale Brown and Truth has expanded their ministry to now having a chapter in Toronto called "Dale Brown and One Voice".
God has been really good to this ministry and for that they are grateful. It is their desire to take God with them wherever they go, spreading His love to those who may or may not know how miraculous He is. Their charge to you today is to “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” - Psalm 37:5
 

 

PRESENTERS:

 

STEPHEN MANDERS - Gospel Recording Artist, Producer, Vocal Director, MInister of Music.

Stephen Manders,  Born in Florida, raised in Bermuda, came to Oakwood University in 2007. While at Oakwood he studied Public Relations and received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in 2012. 

Stephen currently serves as the Assistant Minister of Music for the Oakwood University Church under the direction of Dr. Carlton P. Byrd and Musical Director for New Life Baptist church, Pastor Antoyne L. Green. He has also served as Music Director for various conferences such as the Spring into Praise Music Conference 2018 and the Bermuda Festival of Hymns 2020. 

Stephen's passions include writing, playing and arranging music. He has written musical pieces for artists such as the Spring Into Praise Mass Choir (2009), Dynamic Praise, Oakwood University's Aeolians, Sean Tillery, Patrick Lundy and Kevin Terry.

Stephen's song Under His Wings, was published with GIA Publications (2015), and he has also produced music for artists such as James Fortune (Album: 'Dear Future Me' Song: ‘You Still Love Me [Interlude]). 

He and his current group Stephen Manders & Decree have released three singles; 'Be Still' feat. Naomi Parchment,  'Adoration' which has reached over one million viewers via platforms such as BET and The Shade Room, and his most recent Single,  ‘Heaven’. 

Stephen's mission in life is to write music that brings Glory to God and touches lives Globally.

 

 

SHERICE TOMLIN - Gospel Recording Artist, MInister of Music, Praise and Worship leader.

Sherice Tomlin a resident of Laurel, MD and has stepped out on faith allowing God to use the talents that He has blessed her with. When she sings, her voice is strong and driven by the spirit of God. This energized woman will take you to a high place of worship that will have you lifting your hands before you realize it; you’ll be jumping up in praise with her as she releases heart felt melodious worship from the depths of her very being. 

Having worked with, ministered with and/or shared the stage with the likes of Lady Tremaine Hawkins, Wintley Phipps, John Stoddart, Dynamic Praise, Duawne Starling, Terrell Hunt, Maurette Brown-Clarke,  Committed (The Sing Off Season 2 winners), Judith McAlister, Amber Bullock (Sunday’s Best Season 4 winner), Michelle Prather (Kurt Carr Singers), and Minister Earl Byum.  Sherice’s gift has proven to be just as versatile as the God that has gifted it…

Sherice not only records, but is also an Accountant and has her MBA. She serves as a praise and worship leader and choir director at 3 different churches in the DMV area of Maryland. She is also serves as the Worship and Arts Director at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in the District of Columbia. Sherice has a special love for our youth of today. She has raised up 3 gospel youth choirs within the DMV area. One choir consists of about 100 voices ages 10 and up. These positions don’t slow this woman down, she’s given back to her community by having opened her home to over 25 foster children over the past 7+ years. This afforded her the decision to become a Single-Mother to 3 teenagers through adoption. 

God has blessed her with 3 albums; “Without You Lord,” “One Day,” and  “Just Like Heaven.”

Sherice says we are to keep our ears and eyes opened for new music to come forth. For God has planted several seeds for new songs, a new sound, a new testimony, and a new worship

 

 

 

 

COREY BUTLER - Producer, Music Professor, Musical Director, Artist Director.

 

Corey Butler is the Founder and Artistic Director of Zamar Music Productions Inc, a multifaceted music arts organization committed to impacting communities through music art education, music mentorship and music art performance and production.

He served as the Musical Director of the Juno Award winning Toronto Mass Choir for over 10 years and has written songs with Grammy Award winning Hall of Fame inductee Carvin Winans. Butler has also played with some of the finest musicians and singers in Toronto including the incomparable, Jackie Richardson.
Corey is also a music professor in the Music Industry Arts Performance (MIAP) program at Centennial College and the Musical Director of the York University Gospel Choir at York University. He continues to make a mark on the music industry in Canada having produced the Toronto Mass Choir’s 1st Christmas album, “A Christmas Gift”, and their most recent album, “By Special Request”.

In addition to his skills as a piano player, musical director and producer, Butler also regularly conducts a 50+ piece symphony orchestra and has curated and produced live performances that speak to socioeconomic issues, educate and bring greater appreciation for the differences we all share culturally and socially.
