Return to the Forbidden Planet is a “jukebox musical”, loosely inspired by Shakespeare’s play The Tempest and the 1956 sci-fi movie The Forbidden Planet. It features great vintage pop hits by James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Nina Simone, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, The Who, and many more. Mr Carpenter and Ms Welby (CFBL’s music and English teachers) will be directing a cast of more than forty CFBL Secondary students. This initiative will be an amazing opportunity for the students involved to hone their English and musical skills and to foster their self-confidence while performing on stage. Four evening performances will take place at the Courtyard Studio Theatre (near Old Street, London), on the 17th, 20th, 21st and 22nd of March 2017, at 6.30 pm. Tickets will be priced at £12 per adult and £6 per child.
