A Call to Community: Documenting Impact, Forging Forward

At a time when unprecedented changes in Baltimore's human services landscape are creating waves of uncertainty – with government overhauls freezing funds and disrupting established support systems – we come together not just in response to crisis, but in continuation of our planned mission to strengthen and uplift our community. While this gathering was envisioned before the current upheaval, its timing could not be more critical.

For over 12 years, we have successfully navigated system changes and funding challenges while maintaining unwavering support for our community. Now, as many organizations and service providers face uncertainty, we gather to share our proven strategies for resilience and chart a course forward together.

📅 Date: March 27th, 2024 📍 Location: Next Phaze Restaurant

Two Critical Missions

1. Documenting Our Impact

In times of change, our history becomes our foundation. By documenting our community's transformation over the past decade, we create more than just a record – we build a testament to the power of grassroots solutions and community-driven change. These stories demonstrate how we've successfully weathered previous systemic changes while continuing to serve and empower our community. They provide evidence of our effectiveness to funders and partners while inspiring hope in those we serve.

Our documentation will encompass:

  • Collecting transformative stories from program alumni
  • Recording the evolution of our community services
  • Preserving testimonials of youth development
  • Highlighting successful community partnerships
  • Measuring our collective growth and achievements

2. Plotting Our Path Forward

We understand the uncertainty of this moment can feel paralyzing - these changes affect us all. Yet within this challenge lies an opportunity to come together and strengthen our community's self-sufficiency and resilience. By uniting service providers, philanthropists, small businesses, and community members, we can support each other in creating sustainable solutions that aren't dependent on any single funding source or system. This isn't just about weathering the current storm – it's about building a model for community prosperity that uplifts us all.

Our forward planning will focus on:

  • Developing collaborative support networks
  • Creating sustainable economic partnerships
  • Establishing resource-sharing systems
  • Building stronger service delivery models
  • Designing community-driven solutions
