What happens when the radiant voices of a boys’ choir, the grandeur of a cathedral, and the wonder of Christmas come together?

A Ceremony of Carols invites audiences to experience the joy and beauty of the season through the annual Christmas concert of the St. John’s Boys’ Choir. Surrounded by the soaring architecture of St. Mary’s Cathedral, the choir will fill the space with music while dramatic lighting transforms the cathedral and brings each moment to life.

The boys will be joined by strings, brass, organ, and the SJBC Alumni Choir, creating a rich tapestry of sound that celebrates both the intimacy and splendor of Christmas music.

Through music, light, and the voices of generations of SJBC singers, A Ceremony of Carols offers audiences an unforgettable celebration of Christmas and a cherished tradition for the entire community.

The St. John's Boys' Choir

Now in its 45th season, the St. John’s Boys’ Choir continues the tradition of enabling boys to express themselves through music and provides an environment that nurtures and encourages creativity. Founded in 1981 by Br. Paul Richards and the Saint John’s monastic community, the organization has grown to include four choral ensembles which perform more than fifty engagements annually. Members of the choir represent home, public, and private schools in more than fifteen communities around Central Minnesota.
