Description

Break a Leg Theater Works proudly presents "A Chorus Line - High School Edition" by by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban, and a book by James Kirkwood Jr. and Nicholas Dante.

A Chorus Line is a stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway chorus audition. This iconic musical is a celebration of those unsung heroes of the theater. Exploring the inner lives and bittersweet ambitions of professional Broadway performers, the show features one powerhouse number after another. Memorable musical numbers include "What I Did for Love, "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It." A brilliantly complex fusion of song, dance, and compellingly authentic drama, A Chorus Line was instantly recognized as a classic and is also a celebration of the American musical itself.

This production will feature some of the original choreography by Michael Bennett. The rest of the choreography will be created by an original cast member of the 2006 Broadway Revival, Chryssie Whitehead.

For the opening night performance on June 24th Chryssie Whitehead, our choreographer and guest artist for this production will give a talkback after the performance. Chryssie is an original cast member of the 2006 revival of "A Chorus Line" where she played the role of Kristine. She was also featured in the iconic documentary "Every Little Step" which followed the casting process of the revival. This production was reconstructed with the iconic Michael Bennett choreography with original cast member Baayork Lee choreographing.
