Description

As we look at Parashat Mikeitz through the lens of queer eyes, Cantor Iacono shows us how we may develop a personal lens for reading ourselves in these texts. To ensure his own rise to power, Joseph interprets Pharaoh's dreams, predicting years of prosperity followed by years of famine. In this two-session course, we hear the argument for Pharaoh and Joseph getting married to one another. Pharaoh places his ring on Joseph’s hand and clothes him in fine robes and jewels. Could this be a milestone in biblical scholarship the first gay wedding in the Torah?
