Description
White Meat writer/director David Dylan Thomas takes you on a journey through the ups and downs of Black people's involvement in horror cinema. From token roles as victims and comic relief to taking control of the narrative (and having it taken back again) we explore the ongoing struggle to use horror as a lens to tell the story of what it is to be Black in America.
Thomas will also talk about his own education in Black horror stemming from research to create his own horror comedy about enslaved zombies who eat white people. Black history and Black horror, he discovered, have much in common.
David Dylan Thomas has been making movies ever since he was a kid, in almost every genre imaginable. By day he gives lectures and workshops on inclusive design as the CEO of David Dylan Thomas, LLC. By night he makes horror movies under the mantle of White Meat Movie, Inc., which recently produced the short White Meat: Appetizer and is fundraising for the upcoming feature White Meat.
