An online workshop organised by the Sussex Alliance of Food Partnerships
The webinar is being hosted on Teams and to access the link you will need to follow the instructions in the confirmation email
Devolution is happening and soon we will have a Mayor for Sussex.
Responsible for skills and employment, the environment, public health and reducing inequalities being Mayor is a big job.
- What if the Mayor looked at these challenges and opportunities through the lens of food?
- Is local food the way to achieve sustainable development and investment for the region?
- Is food the special ingredient in creating our shared identity?
This event will launch the Sussex Alliance of Food Partnerships and look at these questions and more. It will bring together people from across East Sussex, Mid Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove to consider how the excellent food work already happening in the region can be enhanced and ask what more needs to be done to address the challenges we face.
This will be a participatory session with themed breakouts covering a range of topics. We want to hear from you about how we can work at a Sussex wide level to
- Environmentally friendly farming and local food infrastructure to develop supply chain resilience
- Celebrating and strengthening our unique regional food heritage and culture
- Reducing inequalities and ending mass dependence on emergency food parcels
- Improving health outcomes through nutritious diets
The farmer, the baker, the policy maker - all parts of the food system are welcome.
We are currently working on the programme and will update information as we have it but for now please save the date.
The Sussex Alliance of Food Partnerships comprises Food Partnerships from East Sussex, Mid Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
