Celebrating its 31st season in downtown Reno, Brüka Theatre is recognized for innovative productions, exceptionally talented artists, and the acclaimed Theatre for Children touring series since its founding in 1992. Central to Brüka is the commitment to the re-investigation of contemporary and classic plays and developing new plays within Brüka’s Artistic Collective, a group that includes winners of the Nevada Arts Council and Sierra Arts Foundation artist grants and nine local best actor honors. Brüka was named “Best Theatre Company” by Reno News and Review for twenty-one years. THE STORY: For your holiday titillations, an all original BÜTTCRACKER . In Little Miss Buttcracker, Clara becomes Olive as her family puts the fun back into “dysfunctional” as they embark on a cross country journey to engage in pageantry and competition with the Dance Moms. Brükaisms abound in this 12th rendition which is more of a Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride than a “tighten your toe shoes to the music” kind of experience.
