Description

As a special thank-you to our AcA Insiders and President’s Circle members, we invite you to a rare, intimate after-hours evening centered around George Rodrigue: Works 1965–2000, just days before the exhibition closes.

This Insiders’ Salon offers one last opportunity to experience Rodrigue’s 35-year artistic evolution up close—from early bayou surrealism to the iconic emergence of the Blue Dog. While the main gallery rests for reinstallation, AcA opens its doors for a members-only gathering filled with art, conversation, and a little lagniappe.

The evening includes two opportunities to view a private screening of Blue: The Life and Art of George Rodrigue in the intimate James Devin Moncus Theater:

  • 6:00–7:00 PM (prior to the Salon)
  • 7:30–8:30 PM (during the Salon)

Beginning at 7:00 PM, members are invited to enjoy light bites, refreshments, and time in the gallery as part of the Insiders’ Salon experience.

We’re honored to welcome Rhonda Egan, of the Lafayette Rodrigue Studio, who will be in attendance throughout the evening. Rhonda will be available in the gallery to share personal stories and insights into George Rodrigue’s life and career, and will host a brief Q&A following each film screening—offering members a rare opportunity to engage more deeply with the artist’s legacy.

Acadiana Center for the Arts

Our mission is fostering art and culture in Acadiana.

Founded in 1975, Acadiana Center for the Arts (“AcA”) is a community-supported nonprofit organization that fosters art and culture in Acadiana. Since its founding, AcA has developed as a major force, shaping the future of public education and community development in South Louisiana.

AcA supports the creation of new works of art, exhibits, festivals, performances, and public art across an eight-parish region that includes Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion Parishes.

AcA aims to bring equitable access to the arts and supports fair compensation of artists. On average, AcA serves over 300,000 people annually and provides fair compensation to 2,700 artists.

In 2013, the AcA merged with the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana (“PASA”), whose mission was to educate, inspire, entertain, and culturally enrich the people of south Louisiana by providing local access to a diverse range of the performing arts. This merger supported the vision of both organizations and provided much-needed support to PASA’s programs. Founded in 1989, PASA served as a leading voice in the performing arts in South Louisiana for close to three decades.
