Tuesday, June 2, 2026 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Resnick Family Campus (Brentwood)
The Jewish Food Lab welcomes back New York Times bestselling cookbook author, Adeena Sussman, for the Los Angeles launch of her highly anticipated new book: ZARIZ: 100 Easy, Breezy Tel-Aviv-y Recipes.
Join us for a lively and intimate conversation with Adeena and LA Times Critic Jenn Harris as she shares stories, inspiration, and the flavors behind her newest collection of fresh and modern Israeli-inspired easy cooking.
Generously Sponsored by Nancy and Howard Klein.
About ZARIZ: 100 Easy Breezy and Tel-Aviv-y Recipes For Adeena, the kitchen is an island of calm: a place where she can center her mind, set the rules, and create a daily haven of deliciousness through her cooking. These days, she finds herself embracing the mantra “when the going gets tough, the cooking gets easy.” Pandemics, wars, and the busy pace of a very full life have led her toward a smoother, more streamlined cooking approach embodied in the Hebrew word for quick, ZARIZ. This pared-down style doesn’t mean sacrificing the rhythms, sounds, and sensory pleasures we experience while preparing vibrant, flavor-forward, yet simple recipes.
Special Guest Jenn Harris: Jenn Harris is a restaurant critic for the Food section of the Los Angeles Times. She was a finalist for the 2025 James Beard Award for criticism, and holds a bachelor’s degree in literary journalism from UC Irvine and a master’s in journalism from USC. She credits both her Jewish and Chinese grandmothers with her lifelong appreciation for food and cultures from all over the world.
