Adjustable Armbinder Workshop
Description: Learn Parker's "adjustable armbinder" tie, which is designed to adjust to a many different degrees of shoulder mobility, from very limited shoulder mobility to hypermobility. This tie involves the arms positioned behind the back with unbent elbows.
Participants with prior suspension experience will have the opportunity to learn the partial/full suspension applications of this armbinder tie, while participants without suspension experience can learn some positional applications of this armbinder tie on the ground.
Skill/Experience Level: The *minimum* skills for this class are a beginner rope workshop such as the Beginner Rope Intensive or other equivalent rope education. People tying in the class must know a square knot, a non-collapsing single-column tie (such as a Somerville bowline), a half-hitch, evenly tensioning wraps, an x-friction, and locking off a harness. People being tied in the class must have prior experience in chest ties & arm ties and should have awareness of their own bodies and risk profiles. Prior suspension experience is required for the suspension-related content in the workshop. If you aren't sure if you meet the requirements, please reach out to coilandcord@gmail.com
Partnering: This hands-on is designed to be done with a partner, with one person tying and one person being tied. If you attend solo, you are welcome to partner up with another solo participant at the start of the workshop. Observers/auditors are also welcome.
What to Bring: We recommend bringing at least 4-5 lengths of rope (usually ~25-35 ft. long each, and perhaps including one shorter length of rope that's ~10-15 ft.) Rope is also available for purchase with workshop sign-up & at the workshop!
