Description

Adult Mental Health First Aid consists of 2-hours of self-paced content followed by 5.5 hours of instructor-led training.

Mental Health First Aid is a nationally recognized public education course. Participants learn to recognize and respond to the signs and symptoms of an emerging mental health challenge or crisis, to identify community resources, and to link individuals in need of support to appropriate care. This skills-based course includes a 5-step action plan which can be used in various types of crisis and non-crisis situations.

This course will be facilitated via Zoom; link will be provided as the class date approaches.

Jade Collins Consulting

Jade is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Maryland and Washington, DC. She is a Maryland Board Approved Social Work Supervisor, providing clinical supervision to Licensed Masters Social Workers working towards their clinical social work licensure. 

Jade is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor assisting individuals in the community with building mental health literacy and teaching them the skills to help individuals who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Jade is passionate about normalizing conversations about mental wellness and healing. She is dedicated to educating various communities about important mental health topics through her presentations, panel discussions, and trainings. 

Jade lives by the motto “the shoes may fit but we most certainly do not have to wear them” meaning - we experience different things that have influenced the people we are today, but those experiences do not have to define us.
