Description
This once-in-a-lifetime experience belongs on every design and garden lover’s bucket list.
No one celebrates American style like VERANDA. This June, we’re inviting Design Society Gold members to join editors on a two-day, three-night insider’s journey through Middleburg and Virginia’s Hunt & Wine Country, including exclusive access to Oak Spring—the historic Virginia Piedmont estate where Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon and her husband Paul lived and worked for more than six decades.
Along with a tour of the horticulturalist’s home, library, and gardens, this year’s field trip—scheduled for June 14-16—includes summer entertaining workshops and lectures on American style and design by top design experts. Throughout the event, guests will indulge in a culinary celebration of seasonal Piedmont cuisine at The Red Fox Inn & Tavern and Glenstone Gardens, as well as discover Middleburg’s antiquing gold mine on a shopping excursion with VERANDA Style & Market Director Rachael Rummel.
At Oak Spring—where the public is only allowed in a handful of days each year, and only to the gardens—guests will hear from Oak Spring Garden Foundation experts, along with the visionary team at de Gournay, the English wallcoverings and textile company that debuted the Bunny Mellon Collection last year. Guests will also receive a copy of The Enchanting Interiors of Bunny Mellon: Paintings by Snowy Campbell—a new book that offers a rare glimpse into three of Mellon’s homes.
Your ticket includes:
An exclusive guided tour of Oak Spring, featuring a lunch conversation with designer, author and philanthropist Charlotte Moss centered on Bunny Mellon's legacy
A welcome reception hosted by VERANDA Editor in Chief Steele Marcoux at Boxwood Winery Tasting Room
Expert-led summer entertaining and design workshops at Glenstone Gardens, the historic Reuters estate—including a floral and table setting workshop by award-winning event designer Calder Clark
An editorial keynote on American style featuring esteemed designer Mark D. Sikes, in conversation with VERANDA Editor in Chief Steele Marcoux, at the National Sporting Library & Museum
Two culinary celebrations of seasonal Piedmont cuisine at The Red Fox Inn & Tavern and Glenstone Gardens
Antiques shopping in the Middleburg area with VERANDA Style & Market Director Rachael Rummel
