Afghan Dinner with CWS Greensboro is an evening to gather around the table, share Afghan food and culture, and reflect on Greensboro’s role in the Afghan evacuation and resettlement response.
Five years ago, Afghan families arrived in our community during a moment of crisis and transition. Across Greensboro, churches, volunteers, donors, cosponsors, neighbors, and local partners stepped forward to welcome families, provide support, and help make our community feel more like home.
This dinner is an opportunity to come back together — Afghan community members, cosponsors, supporters, and partners — to reflect on what happened, honor the role Greensboro played, share stories and victories from the past five years, and recognize how the work continues today.
The evening will include Afghan food, community connection, stories from Afghan neighbors and supporters, and a chance to reflect together on both the progress made and the new challenges and opportunities ahead.
As we look back five years later, this is not only a moment of gratitude, but also a renewed invitation to stand alongside refugee and immigrant families as they rebuild their lives and strengthen our shared community.
Tickets are $50 per person. Ticket sales help make the evening possible, and guests will also have an opportunity to make an additional gift in support of CWS Greensboro’s ongoing work with refugee and immigrant families.
