Join us for our AFTER HOURS Summer Concert Series, happening EVERY 3rd Tuesday of the Summer Months (June - August) from 6 PM - 8 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM) at the Asheville Museum of History (AMoH) at the historic Smith-McDowell House.

 

Each concert will showcase the talents of local artists who reflect traditional and contemporary folk, bluegrass, and Appalachian mountain music. For our July 21st AFTER HOURS concert, we are delighted to have The Nature Boys! Performances will take place on the front porch of Smith-McDowell House, allowing friends and families to gather and enjoy the music from the front lawn.

Please pre-order a curated picnic from Finch Grocery to enjoy on the lawn—options below. On the night of the show, wine and beer will be available for sale, as will non-alcoholic beverages.   

OPTION 1: Charcuterie Picnic [$75.00]

Charcuterie Board including meats, cheeses, pickles, fruit, crackers, and nuts for two

OPTION 2: Chicken Cold Salad Picnic [$75.00]

2 garden salads with peppers, cucumbers, feta, carrots, pepperoni, tomatoes, house-made pickled onions, and house-made white balsamic vinaigrette

2 portions of house-made chicken salad 

2 desserts

 

OPTION 3: Vegan/Vegetarian Cold Salad Picnic [$75.00]

Bottle of wine

2 portions of house-made curry chickpea salad

*Finch Grocery Picnic Baskets need to be ordered & purchased via SimpleTix by 5 PM on Monday before the concert to receive on the day of the show* 

 

Your picnic basket purchase will support the Asheville Museum of History and Finch Grocery

 

We will be selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks during the show, but please feel free to bring your own food and picnic-style dinner. Also, we can only provide a few chairs, so please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to ensure you have comfortable seating.  

 

In addition to live music, AFTERS HOURS will feature games and activities for the entire family. Included with your ticket cost is admission to the museum. Folks will be able to enjoy the museum as they would during normal operating hours.

 

About The Nature Boys:

 

Hailing from the Appalachian musical stronghold of Asheville, NC, The Nature Boys are coming in hot with their brand of bluegrass. As veterans of the acoustic music scene, they are combining a deep love of traditional string band music with a refreshing catalog of original songs, dazzling fans with a certain je ne sais quoi that is both genuine and relatable.

 

Formed in the summer of 2025, long time friends Jack, Jesse, and Nick found themselves once again living in the same town and ready to start a new musical project. These three had spent years touring across the world, often but not always in the same group. With a shared love of music, humor, and brotherhood, The Nature Boys was born in a way that can only be described as natural. Soon after getting the wheels rolling, they enlisted Asheville aces Coop and Korey, now forming one of Asheville’s premier 5-piece bluegrass bands, The Nature Boys.

 

The band is currently performing regionally and is recording their debut album, to be released in late 2026.

* Weather Cancellation Policy: This is an outdoor event that may be affected by the weather. The Museum reserves the right to delay, cancel, or reschedule the concert in the event of severe weather deemed unsafe for participants by management. No refunds will be issued for weather-related cancellations, delays, interruptions, or early closures. Paid tickets will be considered charitable contributions to the Museum. If the event is rescheduled, tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date. By booking, guests acknowledge and accept the risk of changing weather conditions. Guests are encouraged to monitor email and social media updates for event status announcements.

 

* Pre-ordered picnic baskets will be available for pickup at the Museum on the day of the event and are non-refundable, as they are prepared in advance by the caterer.
