Bio: Trudy Peach, a Vesterheim Gold Medalist since 1986, discovered her passion for rosemaling in high school after viewing a book with a Rogaland panel in it painted by Bergljot Lunde. Her interest in Norwegian heritage grew from living in NW Wisconsin close to her Norwegian grandparents. Her first rosemaling class was at the Milwaukee Vo-Tech in the late 1960's and later took Community Ed classes in Minneapolis. In the 1970's she heard about Vesterheim and took her first class there with Vi Thode. She took several classes from Berglijot Lunde at Vesterheim and also from many other American and Norwegian instructors. Trudy has studied Vesterheim's collection and uses these old pieces, photos, and books to develop her own style of rosemaling. She now teaches several rosemaling styles.
