Join us for an author evening with Tom Karel, who will be speaking on the topic of "Mental Illness in the Church: Caring for Bodies, Minds, and Souls." Tom brings his personal experience as a psychologist and church elder to bear on this subject, applying scientific, practical, and biblical wisdom. Following the topic, there will be a time of Q & A, followed by a coffee and dessert reception.

Tom Karel (MA, Wheaton College) is the coauthor of A Christian’s Guide to Mental Illness: Answers to 30 Common Questions. Tom is a psychologist at Pine Rest, a Christian mental health center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tom is involved with Faith Community Outreach, an initiative that connects Christian organizations to serve the faith community. He serves as an elder at Redeemer Free Reformed Church.
