Bil Lepp is an award winning humorist, storyteller, author and host of the History Channel’s ‘Man vs History’. Born and Raised in West Virginia. He is the recipient of the Vandalia Award, west Virginia’s highest folk honor, and is a five time champion of the West Virginia Liar’s Contest. With a natural talent for weaving history and humor together, Lepp has published 28 books and audio collections. Lepp’s humorous, family friendly tall tales and stories have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages.
The Green Hotel is a private, non-profit museum which is supported by The Green Hotel Restoration Foundation. The Green Hotel is a historic hotel building located at 530 James St. The hotel was built in 1913 by the Kern County Land Company as lodging for prospective buyers at the Shafter Townsite. Now a museaum showcasing our history in Shafter, we are open every first Saturday of the month.
