Kaatsbaan is thrilled to welcome Dawoud Bey, acclaimed photographer and educator. Open to the public, the event will be held in our theater on Saturday evening. Bey was named a MacArthur Fellow by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale University. He was distinguished College Artist and Professor of Art at Columbia College Chicago, and is currently senior critic at the Yale School of Art. His 2021 landmark retrospective "An American Project" at the Whitney Museum of American Art and SFMOMA exposed "rich histories hidden beneath the surface" and "how places evolve over time.". He is regarded as one of the most innovative and influential photographers of his generation
