Own Your Resilience is an Army veteran's battle plan for the hardest seasons of life. In 2010, Jennifer Ballou was deployed to Afghanistan when her husband, Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo, was killed in action in the same war. She is one of the only known service members to lose a spouse that way. What she did next helped lay the groundwork for the Army's Master Resilience Training, and she tested it on herself before teaching it to anyone else.
Those tools are the heart of this book. Jennifer went on to lead a military-wide effort for families of the fallen and veterans at Fort Bragg and the Pentagon, and today she uses the same approach with civilians working through trauma and loss. The book is honest about grief and practical about rebuilding, written for anyone facing a change they didn't plan for, in uniform or out of it.
Join us for an evening with Jennifer, presented by The Unquiet Professional, a nonprofit created in memory of Green Beret Michael H. Simpson that honors fallen soldiers and supports their families. Kellie will sit down with Jennifer for a conversation, and afterward Jennifer will sign your copy.
