Description
Join Anna Tivel with her special guest Kale Chesney for an intimate house-style show on Saturday, October 17th, at Depot Hill Creative, the beautiful community art space in Stoughton’s newly renovated historic train depot.
You can reserve free tickets online for this event — only 50 seats are available. And at the show, you can make optional donations of any amount ($20 per ticket or more recommended), with 100% of all donations going to the artists.
If you already know Anna Tivel, then you know why I’m so excited to be hosting this show.
If you’ve never heard of Anna Tivel, now’s a great time for you to change that.
Consider this:
Ann Powers from National Public Radio picked Anna’s The Outsiders as her top album of 2022 and has described her as “just one of my absolute favorite living songwriters.”
Jonathan Aird from Americana UK has voiced even stronger praise for her: “Anna Tivel, we will never cease to tell you, is one of the finest songwriters of her generation.”
For my part, here’s what I say: There’s no one whose songs demonstrate the power of words and the power of stories better than Anna Tivel.
If you love stories and language and writing and music, then there’s a good chance you’ll love Anna Tivel.
But not every artist is for everyone, so it doesn’t matter what Ann Powers or I or anyone else thinks about Anna Tivel—it’s what you think.
So go ahead and take my Anna Tivel test:
Watch the three videos below. Then you’ll know.
And if Anna’s music is for you what it is for Ann Powers and Jonathan Aird and me, then you won’t want to let this opportunity to share a special evening with her slip away. The Stoughton concert is part of Anna’s Tour by Train, traveling by rail from Portland, Oregon, to Chicago and back again — "A tour to collect and share the things that make us human. Stories of life and work, love and community. There will be songs and space to share thoughts and hear the voice of people from other towns.”
