Please join us for the Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrations on Saturday, May 31st, 2025. The event will occur from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by light refreshments, at The River Center at Saluda Shoals Park, @5605 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212.
Annamacharya, fondly known as Annamayya, was a 15th-century Hindu saint and composer. He is credited with composing as many as 32,000 sankeertanas (songs) in praise of Lord Venkateswara. His work has left an indelible mark on the Telugu language and culture, and his Jayanthi (birth anniversary) is a grand celebration of his life and contributions.
This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to immerse oneself in the richness of Telugu literature and music and to celebrate the linguistic heritage passed down by Annamayya. Expect an evening filled with soulful recitations, enchanting musical performances, and engaging discussions on the language and cultural nuances embedded in Annamayya's work.
