Join us for our anniversary bash! We're celebrating with two informational sessions, activities for kids, light refreshments, raffles for a meg and a pecten, and two beauty contests - owners of the prettiest pecten and the ugliest patho will each take home a Fern Foss gift certificate! The lineup of events is below. Info sessions are free with a donation; sign up to reserve a seat or drop in the day of the event to watch. Door prizes for our first 50 guests!
12 - 1:30 All About AI Pectens. Cheryl Wilson started Fern Foss due to a love of pectens, and she'll talk about what they are and how to hunt them. Everyone is encouraged to bring in their favorite pectens for show & tell and IDs. Participants will vote on the prettiest pecten.
2 - 3:30 Pathos. Steven Corgan will lead a discussion on pathological (deformed) fossils and what causes them. He and Reanna Boudrow will help identify any pathological fossils that you have. At the end, the group; will vote on the ugliest/most interesting pathological fossil of the day.
4 :00 Fossil Raffle & Announcements. Fern Foss was recently awarded seed money from Main Street & American Express to expand our community & educational programs & we can't wait to tell you all about our plans. Festivities will conclude with the raffle drawings. You need not be present to win, but if you are you can take your new baby home that evening!
