Description
On Saturday, March 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. we are starting our first Appalachian Heritage Class, for adults at Balsam Mountain Inn. We are modeling it on the Appalachian Cultural and Heritage hour that we have had for the past one and a half years designed especially for children and youth. We will have a theme each time, with both stories or history and at least one craft. There is so much to learn about this wonderful area we call home. The bar will be open for drinks and light refreshments will be provided during the event. The first craft we will do is a beautiful pinecone wall hanging (made from all natural materials). We will begin the history and story section with an informative talk about the history of our area and the pioneer settlers survival skills and food preservation. This is only the first lesson in a series of lessons on this topic. There is a cost of $15.00 to cover craft materials and snacks.
