Description

In this four week workshop, you will work on guided ceramics projects among a group of peers in a space dedicated to open dialogue and inquiry. Using research based methods and theory on the use of art as a means of reflection, this four week workshop seeks to act as a catalyst to aid one’s journey towards self.

The workshop will take place every Sunday morning from 10am-12pm starting on Nov 1st and ending on Nov 22. Culminating in the final artist showcase that will take place on December 5th during Community Clay's First Friday Studio Open House from 6-9.

What you get:

  • Four 2-hour in-person workshop sessions with a dedicated group of fellow artists.

  • Hardcover sketchbook/journal to use in the workshop and beyond, including guided journal prompts to use throughout the workshop.

  • Clay and other ceramics materials.

  • Guided projects aimed at reflection on artist identity and style.

  • Glazing included for final workshop piece.

  • Space to show work at artist showcase on December’s First Friday Open House event.

  • Support from fellow workshop attendees and facilitator, and space to have dedicated conversation on ceramics, artist identity, and more!

This is not a ceramics class and you will not be learning pottery basics. It is a workshop to assist you on your currently existing artistic journey. Some pottery experience is preferred.

There are no makeups for a missed class. Attendees will be given class notes to work on during their own time.
