About the book:
Notes from Next to the Bed: A caregiving love story in words & pictures reflects a series of moments from artist Meg Kaczyk’s caregiving perspective, during the last eight months of her husband’s life. In this 80-page memoir, the paintings and the narrative fit together, expressing the love, grief, surrender and joy that are part of the caregiving experience.
Meg says: “Writing and painting helped me get through the long years and critical months of caregiving. It is how I honor my grief. And how I emerge. It is my hope that sharing this story will provide companionship and the warmth of recognition for others in a caregiving role.”
